Our Classic Series Thick Wood Cutting Board is a solid 2” thick single-plank board – a solid piece of Pennsylvania Cherry, Walnut or Hard Maple. These are the 3 most preferred hardwoods used to make the Best Wood Cutting Boards. Cherry, Walnut and Hard Maple are closed-grain non-porous hardwoods that resist liquid absorbing into the wood fibers and helping to minimize bacteria contamination.

This Maple Cutting Board is multi-functional yet simple, it’s plain but so beautiful. Hard Maple with its heavy board density and hardness (1450 lbf. Janka Scale) give it its toughness and long-lasting qualities. BOARD CONSTRUCTION – One-piece Solid Hard Maple cut to a 2” board thickness and sanded to 320 grit, saturated in food-grade mineral oil, finished with 2 applications of Odies Food-Grade Penetrating Oil that protects the wood establishing a deep oil/moisture barrier that helps to stop bacteria contamination.
