ENGLISH WALNUT FLOATING SHELVES

English Walnut Wood has a creamy grey to greyish brown heartwood with distinctive black streaks that make it a great wood for Custom Shelving options. English Walnut can have limb crotch wavy grain, knots and curly figure. This Flat Edge Floating Shelf has a wide edge showing beautiful grain and color variations adding to the shelfs character. 

Our English Walnut Floating Shelves are made from one thick English Walnut wood slab we mill and dry for 2 years until we kiln-dry it and make into an heirloom quality Custom Floating Shelf. Each Wood Shelf is routed and drilled to accept its hidden bracket that holds it flush and secure to the wall – installs in minutes.

Our Finish is Flawless – finishing begins with knots and splits filled with epoxy resin then sanded smooth. The wood shelf is then sprayed with a clear coat, once again fine sanded then sprayed with our Premium Catalyzed Conversion Varnish (CCV). CCV’s 60% solids seal the wood and is permanent. Our CCV finish distinguishes our Wood Floating Shelves from most other shelves for durability and flawless satin smooth texture. CCV resists scratches and water marks.

Materials & Dimensions: We are always looking for English Walnut logs and each English Walnut Floating Shelf is made from a 3” thick English Walnut wood slab we dried for 2 years. We never glue boards together for our shelves. Our standard Wood Floating Shelf sizes are 18” to 80” wide and 8” to 15” deep

Makers: We upcycle each board we use from logs that came from local trees that either died or were damaged. We mill these logs into thick wood slabs, each one tells the story of the tree it came from through its grain and imperfections. Our Lancaster County Pennsylvania Skilled Woodcrafters and finishers create each shelf by hand with passion and pride.

Care: Our CCV Finish is permanent requiring no reapplication – is durable and long-lasting - use a duster or soft cloth, damp cloth and wipe dry.
