Our “CLASSIC” English Walnut Cutting Boards are a single piece of Pennsylvania hardwood cut to size with a flat-edge on one side and natural live-edge on the other. These are our most basic boards but also our most versatile doing it all from prepping meal ingredients to Charcuterie to serving. CLASSIC Boards are 2” thick with cutting surfaces on both sides.
All of our wood is processed by us, from log to finished cutting board – closed-grain Southeastern Pennsylvania Hardwood that absorbs less liquid helping to minimize food contamination. Wood known for its appealing color and natural character that brings nature into any space. Store your CLASSIC Board on edge against the backsplash for an amazing natural accent that will surely get noticed.
English Walnut has a sapwood that is nearly white while its heartwood can be from a lighter pale brown to a rich coffee brown and at times may have gray, purple or reddish casts and typically always has dark brown streaks. Additional imperfections such as knots offer even more character.
BOARD CARE: ZimBOARD Cutting Boards are solid single piece cutting boards and therefore require simple routine maintenance. Boards should be stored on edge allowing for uniform exposure to the surrounding atmosphere and oiled using a food grade mineral oil or cutting board conditioner.
